College of Staten Island women’s basketball freshman Angelique Price had a quality holiday break, and the rookie guard took home CUNYAC Rookie of the Week honors for the period spanning from December 20 – January 3.  The Dolphins went 1-2 during that stretch, but Price was a catalyst in the games and was the conference’s top freshman producer.

Price was crisp primarily in CSI’s first two games of the weekly stretch.  Against William Paterson, she logged a 4-7 performance from the field, adding a three-point bucket and four rebounds, for a total of 11 points in the overtime loss.  Six days later, Price against struck for four field goals, including a three in a 9-point, five-rebound performance against Yeshiva, a 29-point CSI win.  Price was left off of the score sheet against Brooklyn on Sunday, but logged seven rebounds and a blocked shot in only eight minutes of work.

Price is averaging 14.6 minutes per game this season, averaging 5.8 points and 2.3 rebounds.  She is shooting 47% from beyond the arc (9-19) and is fifth on the squad in steals as well,

CSI gets back to action tonight at the Sports & Recreation Center, hosting City College of New York at 5:30pm.
