The Campus Activities Board (CAB) is the programming board that allocates an earmarked portion of the Student Activity Fee for social, cultural, educational, and community service programs. CAB is beginning the process of identifying programs for fall 2016. If your department is planning a program for students and believes that CAB may be interested in co-sponsoring the event, information about the Community Proposal submission process can be found on the CSI Website.  The application is Web-based and can be found on CSI CONNECT.

Community Proposals for fall 2016 are due to CAB by Friday, Apr. 22, 2016 at 11:45pm.  Submit a proposal by accessing the form online. It is highly recommended that you call the Campus Activities Board office at 718.982.2816 or 718.982.3268 to confirm receipt of your proposal.  It is also recommended that you print the form prior to submitting the document for your own records. You can print by right clicking your mouse and printing the screen. If you have an SLAS (student) Account, it is recommended that you log in with that account. If you do not have an SLAS account and would like one to access the full features of CSI CONNECT so that you can save and access your grant request at a later date, please call Debi Kee at 718.982.3268 or email the request to It takes a few days for an account to be set up, so please plan accordingly.

CAB has funded numerous campus programs including “Feminists Are Funny” with the Women’s Center, an International Film Series with the Center for International Service; the Spring Festival with the School of Education, and Majors and Minors Week with the Center for Advising and Academic Success, as well as programs to strengthen community and promote pride in CSI, including support of “Relay for Life” and funding a portion of the refreshments for CSI Freshman Convocation and Honors Convocation.

CAB sets aside $15,000 per semester for community proposal funding. Therefore, CAB will not approve funds in an amount more than $3,000 for any specific proposal. In addition, an individual department may submit as many events as they choose, but CAB will only fund one event per department. CAB will review the fall 2016 proposals that are received by the Apr. 22, 2016 deadline at a May meeting. Please note that CAB funding requests must be approved by Student Government and the CSI Association approvals may not be finalized until mid-July/early August. Please keep this in mind when submitting requests for August/September events.

Thank you in advance for helping to make CSI a place where things happen. We look forward to receiving your program ideas. If you have questions about the proposal process, or need assistance with your application, please contact Debi Kee at 718.982.3268 or email
