College of Staten Island hurler Ryan Kennedy picked up his first CUNYAC Pitcher of the Week award in 2016, riding a big win last week to seal up the honor. The Dolphins had a light week that consisted of only three games, but in CSI’s lone win over Mount Saint Vincent, the hard-throwing junior was the star of the show.
Kennedy was terrific in his lone weekly outing, helping CSI to a 10-0 win over MSV. Kennedy went the distance, fanning five batters in the complete game shutout, yielding just four hits. The win lifted Kennedy to an even 2-2 on the season with a 3.97 ERA, good for third on the squad. Kennedy’s second complete game is tied for tops on the unit and he has now fanned 13 batters in 22.2 innings. Opponents are batting just .233 against him this season.
The Dolphins are back in action this afternoon against Kean University. They return home to face United States Merchant Marine Academy at the CSI Baseball Complex at 6:30pm on Wednesday evening.
