The College of Staten Island women’s volleyball team has unveiled its 2016 slate of games and with a healthy majority of returning talent, the team is poised for a fine campaign in the coming weeks. The 2016 slate features 27 contests spread over 19 dates, culminating on the first week in November with the CUNYAC Championship.
CSI will usher in the season on its home floor on Thursday, September 8, against Farmingdale State College, and from there will play six straight contests on the road that finalize with a trip to Pennsylvania to take on both Wilkes College and Immaculata University. The CUNYAC did away with neutral-site multimatches in 2016 and instead will adopt conference tri-matches and CSI sees the first of those at Lehman College on September 10, where they will play the hosts and CCNY.
The Dolphins will see a bulk of their home schedule occur in October, and see a span of 9 of 10 contests played at the Sports & Recreation Center between October 5-25. That run includes a CUNYAC Trimatch against Brooklyn College and Medgar Evers College on Columbus Day (October 10) and a double against Sarah Lawrence College and William Paterson University on October 15. Three straight road dates are on tap from there, leading to the CUNYAC Championship Tournament which begins Tuesday, November 1, at higher-seeded institutions.
The top four CUNYAC sides will meet at Baruch College on Thursday, November 4, to determine its champion.
