The New York Road Runners (NYRR) are looking for volunteers to help at the 2016 New York City Marathon.
Staff from the NYRR will be on campus on Tuesday, Aug. 30 at 2:30pm in Building 1R by the “Marathon” artwork to provide pizza and beverages to all students, faculty, and staff who would be interested in volunteering at the start of the NYC Marathon (Sunday, Nov. 6). They will be here to assist everyone who is interested in volunteering with the online registration process, which closes on Wednesday, Aug. 31.
All volunteers will receive a Marathon jacket and one Finish Line Bleacher seat.
The registration process takes just five minutes. While the NYRR staff will have three computers onsite; students are encouraged to bring a tablet or laptop of their own to help expedite the process.
Anyone can volunteer, and the NYRR encourages everyone to register even if they are unsure if they can commit to Nov. 6. There is no penalty for cancellation, but they will be unable to add volunteers after Aug. 31 due to their credential deadline.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Mary Haskins at the NYRR at mhaskins@nyrr.org.
