The College of Staten Island women’s tennis program took to their home courts for the second day in a row.  The Dolphins took on Maccabees at 11:00 am at the CSI Tennis Bubble and fell 8-1 to move them to 0-2 on the year while Yeshiva moves to 2-0.

Play opened up with doubles on courts one through three.  The tandem of Aziza Jurabaeva and Guetanie Romaine were the first to fall on court three by a score of 8-0.  On court one, Nozima Toshpulatova and Michelle Kushnir battled but fell behind and weren’t able to make-up the ground and would eventually fall 8-3.  Over on court two the Dolphins duo of Tristiana Adragna and Dana Friedman made it go extra before losing 9-7.

When the matched moved over to singles play the Dolphins trailed 0-3.  Kushnir would give the Dolphins a chance, winning 6-2, 6-2 in the number two slot.  Her efforts would not be enough however as the rest of her team would fall.  Adragna would take it to a third tiebreaker game, however she would fall 10-5 while on court five Friedman would also go the distance before losing 10-7.

The Dolphins will return to action on Friday, September 9 where they will open up CUNYAC play against John Jay College.
