All-Time Series:  CSI leads SJC-BK 2-1, RUN leads CSI, 2-0
Players To Watch (CSI):  The Dolphins are led by Mark Palencia at the net, as he leads the team with 67 kills on the year.  Palencia is an integral part of the Dolphins’ offense and will need to be firing on all cylinders this afternoon to help lift his team to a pair of wins.  Danil Kukovitskiy leads his team with 17 blocks on the year and will need to get in the way of every attack by his opposition this afternoon to not allow free shots at his back line. Adil El Haddad has played well this season and has tallied 129 assists for his efforts. El Haddad will try to trick the opposition with his passes and allow his hitters to get free shots.
Players To Watch (SJCBK):  Thomas Ambrosino paces the Bears with 46 kills on the year and is followed by Alec Smalley with 28. Andre Williams is the net protector for the Bears with eight blocks on the year and will be tasked with attempting to block the Raiders’ and Dolphins’ hitters. Mark Antoun is the setter for the Bears this season and has amassed 87 assists through 14 matches this season.
Players To Watch (RUN):  Corey Pieper has been an unstoppable force this season and has collected 204 kills through 16 matches this season.  Pieper stands at 6-5 and presents matchup issues for teams all season.  Piepers .277 hitting percentage also stands as best on the team.  Setting him up for success has been Brendon Frank and Arnan Romua, both of which have 200+ assists on the year. Jalen Sorrell has been solid at the net for the Raiders this season, tallying 40 blocks, six of which are solo.
News & Notes:  The Dolphins defeated the Bears last season to the tune of 3-1 which bumped the Dolphins up to 2-1 all-time against the Bears. Staten Island will open up the tri-match against the host Bears, and will hope they can avoid their longest losing skid of the season, three games, with a win.  The Raiders come in on a two-match win streak, looking to come out of the day, on a four-match win streak. Staten Island has never taken a set away from Rutgers-Newark in their previous two meetings, but will hope to change that this afternoon at the Hill Center.
