DOLPHINS GET PRESIDENTIAL SEND-OFF PRIOR TO NCAA TRIPS

Members of the College of Staten Island men’s and women’s basketball teams were treated to an afternoon with CSI President Dr. William Fritz and his cabinet today, in an official send-off for the teams as they get set for their respective NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament.  CSI will get underway on Friday for opening round play.

Members of both teams were treated to refreshments, as President Fritz and members of the administration thanked the Dolphins for their athletic service as well as well-wishing for success going forward.  The President was quick to reference CSI’s standing as a powerful scholar-athlete driven institution, recognizing the teams’ rigors of balancing academic excellence with peak performance on the field of play.

The CSI women are traveling to Newport News, Virginia, on Friday, opening up on the road against No. 10 Christopher Newport University at 7:30pm.  Tickets are available now at 757-594-7880 and will be available at the will call ticket window at CNU.  A win by CSI would put them back in play at CNU against the winner of Catholic University and Lynchburg University on Saturday evening at 7:00pm.

The CSI men drew a first-round road game at Swarthmore College in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania.  Their first round game will be on Friday evening at 8:00pm.  A win there will see CSI advance to their Round of 32 game at 7pm at Swarthmore against either Christopher Newport or Morrisville State College.  Tickets for those games can be obtained online at https://swatathletics.ticketleap.com/ncaa-mbb2017-generalsales/dates.
