The women’s volleyball team will take on Hunter College tonight in their home opener at 7:00 pm in the CSI Sports & Recreation Center.  The Dolphins will look to rebound after a 0-3 loss to Cairn University and pick up their second win of the year.

Players to Watch (CSI): Caitlin Esposito played well for the Dolphins in their outing against Cairn University on Tuesday night.  Esposito led the Dolphins with seven kills and 14 digs. Vanessa Reyes will look to impact tonight’s match as she is a threat from anywhere on the court.  Reyes was second on the team with three kills and led the team in assists (9) and hitting percentage (.143) 
Players to Watch (HC):  Taylor Haiduk has played in every match for the Hawks this season and with that leads Hunter with 44 kills. Haiduk has also found success serving as she paces the team with 16 service aces through five matches this season.  Marlena Budna has been the net protector for the Hawks this season and has amassed 19 blocks, 9 of which are solo. Miranda Hogan controls the ball and places it where it needs to be for her teammates and sets them up for success.  She has 123 assists on the season.
News and Notes:  Tonight’s match will be the 17th meeting between these two squads which has been dominated by the Hawks. Hunter College has swept the Dolphins in all 16 previous meetings with the most recent coming in October of last year.  The Dolphins will look to defend their home court and pick up their first ever set against the Hawks tonight in their home opener and will lean on their attacking players to get the job done.
