College of Staten Island sophomore Tristiana Adragna has earned the school’s first ECAC distinction of the season, named ECAC Runner of the Week honors, it was announced yesterday. Adragna led the Dolphins in their one and only meet a week ago.
The CUNYAC Runner of the Week, Adragna scored 30th in a field of 167 runners at the St. Joseph’s College (LI) Invitational held at Sunken Meadow Park in Kings Park, NY. She has a record-setting 5k in the process, setting a career-best mark with a time of 22:48.5. It was CSI’s best 5k of the season and the 17th-fastest time by a CSI runner in the 5k in their history, dating back to 2007.
The run by Adragna comes on the heels of the CUNYAC Championship, which will take place on October 29, at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, NY. The run will be a 6k that starts at 9:30am. Adragna is expected to lead the charge for the young Dolphins bunch.
