The College of Staten Island men’s volleyball team will play in their home opener tonight against CUNYAC opponents, Hunter College. CSI will step on their home court looking to snap a two-match losing skid.

Players to Watch (CSI): Christian Dumadag has played well for the Dolphins so far this season, tallying a team-high 45 kills on 139 total attacks. Dumadag is also only one-of-two Dolphins to have played every set this season. In addition to leading the team in kills, Dumadag sits in second with five service aces. Adil El Haddad and Zebin Guo have split setting duties so far this season with El Haddad leading the way with 65 assists. On the defensive side, Tairou Diaman leads the way for the Dolphins with 9 blocks while Michael Liang paces the way with 40 digs.
Players to Watch (HC): Blake Hogan has been firing on all cylinders this season for the Hawks with a team-high 96 kills. Alec Helford has amassed a team-high 390 assists and sits third on the team with 21 blocks. Joseph Muir leads the team with 123 digs while Cassidy Benjamin paces the team with 36 blocks.
News & Notes: The Dolphins will look to win their first set ever against the Hawks tonight as they have been swept in the previous seven meetings. The Hawks come into tonight’s match on a four-match winning streak, dropping just two sets during that stretch. The Hawks have won the CUNYAC Championship the last two seasons while the Dolphins have been knocked out in the first round of the playoffs in their first three seasons. On the road this season the Hawks are 5-4.
