CSI vs. HUNTER COLLEGE

Players to Watch (CSI): Angelique Price is having a down year after averaging 12.4 points per game in her junior year. This season she is adding 7.9 points per game. Despite the lack of scoring, Price is still an integral part of the Dolphins’ offense as she has the ability to shoot the 3-point or drive to the hoop at will. Victoria Crea has been on the court for 25 minutes per game this season and has added seven points per game. Crea has the ball in her hands a lot as she is the one to start the play, often finding her teammates for open shots. Samantha Flecker has been an integral part of the Dolphins’ offense and defense over the last three years.  Flecker leads the team with 7.3 rebounds per game and is second on the team with 15 points per game. Christina Pasaturo will threaten to score from anywhere on the court and make sure she’s able to get open to drain her 3-point attempts.  Pasaturo is averaging 23.5 points per game this season, the highest of her career, and has already tallied more than 2,000 career points. Pasaturo will look to put in yet another solid night of work as the season starts to come to a close.
Players to Watch (HC): Jade Aponte leads the Hawks with 16.3 points per game, however, she was shut down in her last outing against the Dolphins. In their last meeting on January 17, Aponte was held to just five points, one of only three times she’s been held to below double digits this season. Theresa Leung will try to manipulate the Dolphins’ quick defense and find her open teammates as she leads the team with 3.9 assists per game. Christine Patterson had her third-best outing of the season against the Dolphins as she led her team with 16 points in the loss.
News & Notes: The Dolphins have not lost to Hunter College since the 2014 season in the CUNYAC Semifinals.  Since then, the Dolphins have won eight straight. At home, the Dolphins are 17-11 all-time against the Hawks.  This season at The Tank, CSI is 9-2 with their two losses coming against Division I opponent Wagner college and CUNYAC rival, Brooklyn College. On the road, Hunter College is 7-3 this season. Hunter College is averaging 75 points per game while holding their opponents to just 53 points per game which ranks in the top-50 in the nation. The Dolphins have poured in an average of 79 points per game while also holding their opponents to just 53 points per game. Both teams scored below their season average in the last meeting, however, the Dolphins were able to hold the Hawks to just 51 points.
