Thank you to all who participated in the March Admitted Student Conference (ASC). It was a very successful event.
As a reminder, the Office of Recruitment and Admissions will be hosting this season’s final ASC for newly admitted undergraduate students on Sunday, Apr. 22 from 9:30am to 2:00pm in the Center for the Arts (Building 1P).
The ASC is designed to inform students and their parents/guardians about the many opportunities available to them at CSI with the goal that they accept our offer of admission and enroll at the College. At past events, students and their families have been particularly eager to hear directly from faculty members and staff about specific academic programs and student services. I strongly encourage you to send a representative to this program so that you can recruit and familiarize newly admitted students with CSI’s offerings as they build their academic plans. Where possible, we will accommodate special program-/department-/school-specific sessions and tours.
On average, 70 to 75% of students who attend an ASC enroll at the College. This is a great opportunity to help students explore and discover majors, minors, and other programs.
The event will begin at 9:30am. The Academic and Student Services Fairs are scheduled from 9:30am to 1:00pm. Representatives covering an information table should arrive by 9:15am. Special sessions will begin at 10:00am and repeat throughout the day. Attendees will be informed of the program prior to the ASC and they can tailor it to their interests and availability.
Please let us know if your representative is interested in conducting a session on the majors offered in your department or on a particular program, and if you would like to host any students in your building or facility.
I ask that you please confirm your department’s attendance at this event by contacting Jesse Rodriguez in the Office of Recruitment and Admissions by Friday, Apr. 13. She may be reached at jesse.rodriguez@csi.cuny.edu or 718.982.2593.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
