Please be advised of the following CUNY policies for recording time and calculating pay for College Assistants during Emergency Suspension of College Operations:

Emergency College Suspension of Operations for Part of a Day:
College Assistants who report for work and are then released prior to their usual time, shall be paid for the number of hours scheduled or for three hours, whichever is fewer.  If College Assistants actually work more than three hours, they are to be paid for the number of hours actually worked. College Assistants may be permitted to make up lost hours at the discretion of the College and consistent with the needs and resources of the College.

Emergency College Suspension of Operations for a Full Day:
College Assistants who are unable to reasonably know of a College suspension of operations who report to their assigned location and are unable to work, should be paid for at least three hours, or for the number of hours actually worked, if greater. College Assistants may be permitted to make up lost hours at the discretion of the College and consistent with the needs and resources of the College.

Therefore, when the College closed at 1:00pm on March 7, 2018 due to severe weather conditions, College Assistants who reported to work that day will be paid consistent with the aforementioned policy for Emergency College Suspension of Operations for Part of a Day. Any College Assistant who reported to work that day should indicate on his/her time sheet the hours actually worked and attach to said time sheet, and a copy of the CA’s scheduled work hours so that pay can be properly calculated.
