We hope you had a productive fall semester. As we quickly approach the conclusion of the term, we would like to remind you about important grading policies.

Incomplete Grades (INC)

The Spring/Summer 2022 INC deadline is Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2022. INC grades that are not changed by the deadline will be converted to FIN grades.

A grade change request needs the chairperson’s approval. To change the INC to a letter grade, please email the following information to your department.

  • Student Name
  • CUNY ID/EMPL ID
  • Semester and Year
  • Course Number and Section
  • Current Grade
  • New Grade
  • Reason for Change

Once approved, the department will submit the Grade Change Online Form on your behalf.

Unofficial Withdrawal Grade (WU)

As a reminder, WU grades received before the Fall 2021 term have a negative GPA impact: due to a change in CUNY policy, WU grades received beginning in the Fall 2021 term do not impact a student’s GPA.

F Grade (F)

The F grade is an earned grade based on poor performance during your course, and students who have not been academically successful in your course must be given this grade, and not a WU or a D.

Please note that additional grading support for D/F/WU/INC grades will follow along with important instructions and deadlines pertaining to your semester grade rosters.
