The College of Staten Island softball team is back on their home diamond for the third straight day. The Dolphins take on CUNYAC opponents, York College, this afternoon for one of their last CUNYAC tests before the playoffs.

Players to Watch (CSI): Jamie Holmes hasn’t been one to leave her teammates on base this season and has driven in 20 RBI while batting .377 on the season. Holmes sits behind only Patricia Riches with 10 doubles. Antoinette Galbo has been one of the beneficiaries of Holmes’ RBI count, as she has crossed the plate 23 times, good for second on the team. Riches leads the team with a. 432 batting average and has only struck out once this season and gets on base a team-high 50% of the time. Both Nicolette Trapani and Alison Meagher boast a 2.78 ERA, however, Trapani has 58 strikeouts on the year to just 39 for Meagher.
Players to Watch (YC): Nicole Ovelheira has been outstanding for the Cardinals this season, batting .462 and has not struck out through 21 games this season. Ovelheira has 19 of the teams 63 RBI and has 9 extra base hits. Nathy Reyes sits second on the team with 9 RBI and a .290 batting average. Giovana Rosado is 1-10 in the circle for the Cardinals and has a 12.38 ERA. Rosado has pitched 52.0 innings and has 19 strikeouts this season.
News & Notes: The Dolphins have never lost a game against the Cardinals, a series that dates back to 2002. Out of the 26 meetings the Cardinals have only scored in 10 of them and have never scored more than two runs against the Dolphins. York College has been held scoreless in the last seven meetings dating back to 2014.
