As many of you know, the College conducted a national search for a new Registrar during the academic year just ended. Unfortunately, the search did not conclude with a permanent appointment. I’m delighted to announce, however, that Kerri Gerson has agreed to serve as Interim Registrar, effective Monday, July 30.

As I’m sure most of you know, Kerri has an outstanding record of service in the Registrar’s Office, having served as HEO Associate/Enrollment Registrar Manager since 2013. In this role, she has supervised the Scheduling Unit and overseen the supervision of the Historical Records Unit and the Registration Operations Unit within the Office.

Since joining the College in 2010, Kerri has worked with College leadership, staff, and faculty in many different capacities, including scheduling analysis and space allocation and efficiency. She also maintains many modules of CUNYfirst, including the Academic Structure, the Academic Calendar, the CUNYfirst course catalog, and the schedule of classes. In her role as Scheduling Officer, Kerri has been committed to sharing data and communicating findings widely across administrative and academic offices.

From 2001 to 2010, Kerri held different enrollment management titles at New York University, Stern School of Business. She ended her time there as Senior Associate Director in the Records and Enrollment Services Division. Prior to her service at NYU, she was employed by Reliance National/Reliance Group Holdings, Inc. as a Technical Analyst in the Loss Control Division. Kerri earned her BS in Psychology from Arizona State University and her MA in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University.

I know that all faculty and staff members join me in supporting Kerri and wishing her well in this very important position for the College.
