The College of Staten Island men’s soccer team gears up to take on John Jay College this afternoon at Brooklyn College for the CUNYAC Semifinal round. The meeting will be the second one this season and just their second ever meeting in Brooklyn, NY.

Players to Watch (CSI): Bryant Navarro has scored 17 goals this season, a career-high, and sits tied for eighth in the country. In their meeting with John Jay earlier in the season, Navarro scored, helping lift his team to a convincing 5-0 victory. Dissecting the Bloodhounds in that same contest was Philip Lefkowitz who finished the game with a brace and an assist. Lefkowitz sits third in the nation with 15 assists while also collecting 12 goals, putting him atop the squad with 39 points. Joe Bolella has been another added weapon for the Dolphins, pouring in 14 goals including two game winners.
Players to Watch (JJC): James Haddad paces the Bloodhounds by a large margin this season, netting a team-high 11 goals on 35 shots. Assists have been a team effort by John Jay as several players have posted two assists on the season. In net, Steven Towler has allowed 19 goals and posted five shutouts. Andrew DeCanio has been accurate with his shots, putting 68% of them on target.

Since then, the Dolphins have won 8 of the last 9 meetings, holding John Jay to just four goals while scoring 26 of their own. Staten Island and John Jay last met in the CUNYAC Semifinals in 2015 at Brooklyn College, a game in which the Dolphins cruised to the Finals with a 5-2 win.
