Information Technology Services has facilitated an online learning initiative to provide instructional design and technology support for faculty teaching online and hybrid courses, or faculty who wish to create new online/hybrid courses. This process includes leveraging a course template developed in Blackboard (Bb) that contains a variety of tools and functionalities to assist the instructor with course development. In addition, a Bb community was created that contains links to a variety of online learning resources for the instructor to use throughout the process. There is also an instructional design component that follows specific protocols that align with the development and design of the course including online readiness, learning style, and instructional design rubrics.
The Online Learning Team (OLT) will be offering an informative drop-in session on Tuesday, Nov. 27 from 2:30pm to 4:30pm in Building 3A, Room 202. We welcome instructors who would like to teach online but may need support to begin the process of designing the target online/hybrid course(s) to stop by. In addition, we are welcoming instructors who are already teaching an online/hybrid course but are looking for additional resources to alleviate any challenges they may be experiencing.
