In what was an abbreviated week of play for CSI, the Dolphins improved to 3-0 on the season, and Kayla Schmiiter’s performance earned her the CUNYAC’s Rookie of the Week for the second time in as many weeks.

Schmitter, a freshman from Moore Catholic High School was at the center of CSI’s attack on William Paterson in what amounted to a 71-56 win on the road.  Schmitter posted 11 points on 50.0 percent shooting. She also crashed the glass for 11 rebounds for a double-double, the first of her career.

For Schmitter, this was her second CUNYAC Rookie of the Week honor.  The forward put up big numbers in a pair of opening week games against St. Joseph’s College (Brooklyn) and New York University.

The Dolphins will continue their season when they face off against Misericordia, tomorrow at 7pm, putting their unblemished record on the line.
