The College of Staten Island men’s basketball will look to build off of their recent success after winning the 17th annual Tournament of Heroes, defeating Tufts 98-94. Tonight they’ll face off against CUNYAC foes, York College, at The Tank at 7:30 pm.

Players to Watch (CSI): Adeola Latunji is coming off of a productive two games in which he scored 47 points and pulled down 17 rebounds. Latunji was named Tournament MVP and also CUNYAC Player of the Week. Latunji sits second on the team averaging 19.6 points per game while leading the team with 8.5 rebounds per game. Christian Taylor continues to dominate the court, dishing out 3.5 assists per game and pouring in a team-high 22.1 points per game. Stephen Flagg has given the Dolphins their third scoring option and has been clutch for the Dolphins since returning to the team. Flagg took over the game against Tufts and scored 21 points which helped them earn their first championship since 2015.
Players to Watch (YC): The Dolphins will have their hands full with Darin Dove as he leads the Cardinals with 16.5 points per game. Dove also leads the team in 3-point efficiency, cashing in 35% of the time. Akil Vaughn will be tasked with cleaning up the loose balls around the rim. Vaughn leads the team with seven rebounds per game while adding three points per game. Taishaun Forehand-Jenkins is efficient from the floor, hitting 45% of his shots while adding 13.8 points per game.
News & Notes: Staten Island has won six-straight against York College dating back to the 2016 season. When playing at The Tank, CSI is 32-12 all-time against the Cardinals, averaging 80 points per contest. On the road, the Cardinals are 1-5 and have lost four out of their last five. At home, the Dolphins are 2-2 and come into this game riding a four-game winning streak.
