The College of Staten Island men’s & women’s swimming & diving teams are back in the water this weekend, two weeks after the CUNYAC Championship, appearing in the Metropolitan Swim Championships taking place this weekend at Rutgers University  in Piscataway.

Players to Watch (CSI): The Dolphins are sending a modified unit to theMetro Championships that include two women and five men.  Cecelia Mauro and Rachel Beyer will be the participants on the women’s side, with both participating in the 100-yard and 200-yard Freestyle events.  Beyer will also participate in the the distance 500-yard Freestyle event, while Mauro will appear in the 5-yard Freestyle event.  On the men’s side, Peter Carle, Sami Jindyeh, Leo Litovsky, Trevin Robinson, and Michael Stora will all be participating.  Both Carle and Robinson will be in the 50, 100, and 200 Freestyle events, with Jindyeh joining them in the 50 & 100 events and Litovsky in the 200 and 500 events.  Jindyeh will also be in the 100-yard Butterfly competition, while Litovsky will appear in the 200-yard Backstroke.  Stora will be in three separate events, performing in the 200-yard Individual Medley and then the 100 & 200-yard Breaststroke events.
News & Notes: The Metro Championships, like the CUNYAC Championships, are a three-day event beginning Friday and moving into Sunday.  Each day features preliminary heats in the morning beginning at 9:30am, followed by final heats in the evening beginning at 5:30pm.  Friday competition features 12 total events.  Saturday carries the bulk of events with 16 competitions and Sunday holds the final 14 races/dives.
