All-Time Series:  CSI leads, 1-0
Last Meeting: March 30, 2018 – CSI won 12-7
Players to Watch (CSI): Junior Jett Nouvertne continues to lead the team in hitting in 2019, averaging .414 at the plate, with a team-best 12 hits.  He also shares the team lead with eight runs scored as well.  In limited plate appearances (13), Nick Falcone has eclipsed the .300 average mark and is now batting .308 after six starts.  Nicholas Meola is next in line for CSI, batting .296 and is leading the team with runners on base, sporting eight RBI.  Freshman Steven Collica is batting .292, but is third on the team with seven hits and leads the squad with four walks, boosting his on-base percentage to a .393 mark.  On the mound, look for Christian Capellan and John Esposito to get starts today.  Capellan is 0-2 with a 6.97 ERA, while Esposito is 1-0 with a 1.80 ERA through 10.1 innings of work.
Players to Watch (POLY): The hard-hitting Wildcats have eight players averaging over .300 at the plate, led by Michael Cough, who is at .429 after seven games in the lineup.  Jake Laferriere is next up with .385, stroking a pair of doubles through five starts.  The RBI leaders are Jake Montrose (.333) and Nuck LaBella (.300) with six apiece.  Montrose also leads the team with three doubles.  Bradley Dietz is batting a hefty .357, and with six walks already this season, his on-base percentage is up to .571.  Brett Flint has been very good for Poly on the mound so far this year, as he is 1-0 with a 2.08 ERA.  LaFerriere and Colin Nabinger have logged the most innings at 11.2 this year.  LaFerriere sports a 3.09 ERA and a 0-1 record, while Nabinger is 0-3 with an 8.49 ERA.
News & Notes: These two teams met for the very first time in their respective histories last year, a 12-7 CSI win.  CSI was actually up early, 12-0, in that game last year before SUNY-Poly came roaring back with six runs in the 9th inning to make it interesting.  The Wildcats would go on to finish 12-18 last year, a mark that included a 4-9 record on the road.  CSI had their first true home game on Wednesday, but it hardly went went, as they fell to the College of Mount Saint Vincent, 15-2.  Over the last three games, CSI has fallen by a combined score of 36-3, so the Dolphins have plenty to prove as they hit the field today for this pair of games.
