The College of Staten Island indoor track & field season reached a close a few weeks ago, and now it is time to roll out the outdoor part of the season, and things get started with a morning meet at the Ursinus Outdoor Invitational in Collegeville, Pennsylvania.  It is the first varsity meet in program history for the CSI men and women as they matriculate from club status a year ago.

Players to Watch (CSI):  CSI will have plenty of participants in today’s kickoff event at Ursinus.  On the men’s side, look for David Outlaw, Spencer Milito and Liam McMunn to sine in distance events with Jordan Thompson, Jaron Thompson highlighting sprint competition.  Olatian Okeowo will participate in the Long Jump competition and we will see the first collegiate action from Abdul-Rasaq Ishola and Jared Nusser, who make their debut with the teams for the outdoor season.  On the women’s side, Deavion Brown and Kharyn Ethridge are coming off of spectacular indoor campaigns and will be back at it in both short and long-form courses this afternoon.  Tristiana Adragna and Victoria DeBernardo will join in middle distance events, and in the field, CSI will have three athletes compete in the javelin with Cassidy Iannariello, Vanessa Mansur and Rachel Edmonds making their debut there.  Tracey Simon and Vassageia Watson will make their debut in outdoor track with this meet.
News & Notes:  With every race that is fared CSI will be making history as this is their first official entry ever as a varsity team in Outdoor Track & Field competition.  CSI has 28 entries on the women’s side today and 33 on the men’s side.
