On Wednesday, May 8, 2019, the Student Government of the College of Staten Island will be hosting the 2019 Student Leadership Summit Awards at Nicotra’s Ballroom at the Hilton Garden Inn to honor our dedicated student leaders, as well as faculty and staff.
Nominations are now being accepted on CSI Connect (Orgsync) for the following 2019 Student Leadership Summit Awards:
This award is presented to a student leader who has:
- Contributed significantly to the College of Staten Island community.
- Supported the College’s Mission and goals.
- Responded to a demonstrated need or issue.
- Made exemplary contributions to an academic department, student club, publication, or organization, and helped that organization or department grow through their leadership and vision.
- Collaborated well with students and/or faculty/staff on project(s).
- Demonstrated superior leadership qualities to the College of Staten Island community.
Nominees must be a currently enrolled student in good standing at the College of Staten Island with a minimum 2.5 GPA. The winner will receive a $500.00 award and trophy at the ceremony.
Ellen Krieger Community Impact Award
This award is presented to an individual or group who has made a significant impact on the College of Staten Island campus, or in the local or global community. The award is named in honor of Ellen Krieger, who made a tremendous impact on the lives of the College of Staten Island’s student leaders during her 28 years of service as the Student Government Coordinator. Nominees must be a currently enrolled student or currently employed staff, administrator, faculty member, or a student group, club, or organization in current good standing at the College of Staten Island. The winner will receive a trophy at the ceremony.
Dr. A. Ramona Brown Excellence in Dedication and Service Award
This award is presented to a current administrator, or faculty or staff member at the College of Staten Island who has contributed significantly to the personal and professional development of the student body and demonstrated a level of commitment above and beyond reproach to the College and its student community. The Student Government chose to name this award after Dr. A. Ramona Brown, the former Vice President for Student Affairs and a true advocate for the students. The winner will receive a trophy at the ceremony.

A nomination does not guarantee an award. Recipients will be selected based on the information reflected in their nomination packet by a special committee consisting of students, faculty, and staff of the College of Staten Island. Please see nomination forms for additional rules and regulations.
