Two weeks into her collegiate outdoor track and field career, College of Staten Island freshman Deavion Brown has won her second-straight Rookie of the Week award, given to her by the City University of New York Athletic Conference.  Brown had another successful turn at the Danny Curran Invitational held this past weekend at Widener University.

Brown proved to be CSI’s lone scorer during the hotly-contested meet, where 29 schools showcased.  First, in the 100-meter Dash, Brown put up a time of 12.63, good for the bronze medal in the field of 83 runners in total.  Brown would score four more points in the 200-meter Dash, finishing 5th overall in the 120-woman race with a time of 25.97.  The scores earned by Brown helped CSI to a 19th place finish in the field of 29 teams.

CSI’s run continues this weekend when they take part in The College of New Jersey Invitational in Ewing, New Jersey.
