The College of Staten Island softball team is looking to rebound from a tough loss yesterday in a rain-shortened doubleheader against John Jay, by travelling to Farmingdale State to take on the Rams as part of non-conference competition beginning at 3pm.

Players to Watch (CSI): CSI is still being paced at the plate by Patricia Riches, whi is hitting .554 with a team-best 46 hits, 10 doubles and three triples.  She is also second on the team with 23 RBI.  Sierra Kaplanek continues to lead the way in RBI with 29 in her initial season, holding a .389 batting average.  Samantha MacPherson was recently named the CUNYAC Rokie of the Week, and she brings in a .329 average with 24 hits and 15 RBI.  Antoinette Galbo leads the Dolphins with 10 stolen bags, and she is hitting .355 this season with 25 runs scored, good for second on the team.  In the circle look for the 1-2 punch on Alison Meagher and Jaclyn Kateridge.  Meagher is 5-2 this season with a 1.33 ERA in 42 innings of work, while Kateridge is 4-10 with a 3.63 ERA in 79 frames.
Players to Watch (FSC):  FSC is batting a healthy .326 this season, and are being led by the explosive bat of Julianna Prescia, who is at .429 this season with 30 hits, 11 of them for extra bases.  Sierra Cardenales is at .413, tied for the team lead with 20 RBI along with Jessica Clark, who is batting .283 with five doubles and three homers.  Priscilla Rivera is also uncorking the bat, hitting .384 with a team-best 24 runs scored.  Jaxie Collard will be one to watch in the circle.  She is 6-6 with a 2.13 ERA in 72.1 innings pitched.  Madeleine Smith is at 5-5 with a 2.23 ERA in 69 innings.
News & Notes:  After dropping four out of five to the Rams from 2011-15, CSI has won the last four meetings to Farmingdale after doubleheaders in 2017 & 2018.  Last year, the two teams met in Staten Island with CSI taking 3-2 and 9-2 victories.  Overall, CSI has taken 13 of the 21 all-time meetings, but the teams are 4-4 in games played at Farmingdale.  So far this season, the teams share five common opponents.  FSC is 3-3 against those teams while CSI is 1-5 against them.
