The College of Staten Island women’s basketball team is getting set for their first season as a provisional member of NCAA Division II, and they have begun the excitement with the unveiling of their 2019-2020 competitive schedule.
CSI’s 2019 lineup is filled with exciting dates from beginning to end, including a small handful of competitive dates that will introduce competition for the first time and the renewal of a couple of rivalries that has been dormant for some time. One of those dates will be the season opener, taking place at the University of New Haven for a first-ever matchup with the Chargers on November 9 at 5:30pm, a date that also marks CSI’s first against Division II competition this season. A more familiar opponent, William Paterson University, will help the Dolphins open up the home portion of their season on Tuesday, November 12, at 6:00pm.
The early season rolls on with first-ever dates against Southern New Hampshire on November 17, and against future ECC-rival New York Tech on November 26. CSI will then close out November with a short trip to face NCAA Division I Wagner College in a Staten Island showdown.
Sixteen of the Dolphins’ contests will be against the familiar CUNYAC. They start that lineup at home on December 3 against the City College of New York and finalize also at home against Baruch College on February 18, a night that will also be Senior Night. CSI is announcing Friends & Family Day on Saturday, December 14, at 1:00 pm against Mount Saint Mary College, and the Dolphins will welcome back their Alumni on Saturday, January 25, when they face off against John Jay College. CSI’s alumni will face off at 11:00 am, preceding the varsity contest at 1:00 pm.
CSI will partner with the CSI Men’s Basketball team for Pride Night on Wednesday, February 12, against Hunter College, at 5:30 pm.
