We invite the CSI community to join us in welcoming journalist and author Sabrina Vourvoulias to campus on Tuesday, Nov. 12 in the Center for the Arts (Building 1P< Room 223 from 2:30pm to 4:20pm.
Sabrina Vourvoulias is an award-winning Latina news editor, writer, and digital storyteller. Her short fiction has been published in Tor.com, Strange Horizons, PodCastle, Apparition Literary, Apex, Uncanny, Mithila, GUD, and Crossed Genres, as well as in multiple anthologies. She is also the author of Ink, a nearfuture, immigration-centered dystopia that draws on her memories of Guatemala’s armed internal conflict and on the Latinx experience in the United States. Ink was included in Latinidad List: Best Books of 2012 and was reissued by Rosarium Publishing in September 2018.

The Schwerner Writers Series is sponsored by the English Department. Founded in 2003, the Series invites accomplished and emerging poets, fiction writers, and essayists to visit the College of Staten Island and read from their work. The readings are free and open to the public.
