Today is the Transgender Day of Remembrance. During this day we honor the transgender people murdered in the last year.

Worldwide there have been a reported 331 killings of trans people, 22 of them being here in the U.S. The majority of those killed in the U.S. were black trans women. The life expectancy of a trans woman of color in the U.S. is 35.

Please know that I am here to speak with, advocate, and support all of our TGNC students. If you have ideas to increase acceptance and awareness for our trans community, I am happy to work with you on an initiative.
