Macaulay Honors College alumna Olivia Frasca ’21 is currently a Press Fellow with the NYC Comptroller’s Office.

When describing the office and her responsibilities, Olivia says, “The Press team is a liaison between the Comptroller’s Office and the public, creating both written and visual communications on behalf of the agency, as well as sharing reports on the Office’s latest audits and policy recommendations with news outlets from all over the five boroughs.

“As a Press Fellow, I have the unique opportunity to pursue my interests in both public policy and journalism while learning about—and contributing to—the inner workings of the city’s chief financial oversight agency.”

In addition to performing her Press Office duties, Olivia facilitates professional development events featuring other departments within the massive 800-person agency. For example, she recently organized a brown bag seminar with the Bureau of Public Policy designed to give interns and fellows at the Office valuable insights into the work of the policy team.

Olivia majored in Political Science and completed minors in Business and Economics. She had extensive internship experience (including two summers with the NYC Mayor’s Office of Correspondence and at the District Office of NYS Assemblyman Michael Cusick) and volunteer experience (with the American Red Cross and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society). At CSI, she served as Deputy Commissioner of Academic & Curricular Affairs on Student Government and as Politics Editor/Contributor for The Banner.

Olivia was awarded the Macaulay Community Service Award and CSI Laura Schwartz Memorial Award for Excellence in Political Science upon graduation.
