For the fifth consecutive year, CUNY has released a request for proposals to campus faculty for grant funding to further the reach of Open Educational Resources (OER) and Zero Textbook Cost (ZTC) courses for our students. Over the past four years of this initiative, CSI students across over 12 departments have saved more than $1.33 million dollars in textbook costs. This number includes only the initial transition of courses to OER, and does not capture the compounded savings that students have had as these courses continue to run as ZTC, so the impact on our students is even higher. In addition to this, the grant had funded professional development opportunities for campus faculty to learn more about OER and how it is beneficial not only just for student savings, but also for pedagogy. We invite you to apply for this grant for the 2021-2022 academic year.

Please see the online RFP for submission requirements and details.

For further information on OER, please view the Library’s guide online and please direct any questions to Prof. Christina Boyle, Emerging Technologies Librarian and OER Coordinator, at christina.boyle@csi.cuny.edu.
