We write to inform you that, this week, a member of our on-campus community tested positive for COVID-19 (Coronavirus). Any community members who were directly impacted have already been notified separately. If you were not contacted, then you are not considered affected nor considered at risk.

Note that to protect people’s privacy, we cannot share details about the impacted individuals. We ask that you do not share any information about those who you may hear are being or may be affected by COVID-19.

We encourage you to review the NYS and NYC Websites for information about COVID-19, including its symptoms, how it spreads, and actions you can take to protect your health.

Being vaccinated is considered the most effective way to protect yourself from the virus, as the vaccine will help your body fight the virus if you are exposed. To find more information about COVID vaccines, and where to get them, please visit the NYC and NYS Websites for more information. You may also find detailed information on CUNY’s #VaxUpCUNY Website. We encourage those who are not yet vaccinated to do so, as we prepare for a more in-person Fall semester. As a reminder, employees get two hours of paid time to receive each required dose.

Please always monitor yourself for COVID-related symptoms. If you are sick, please stay home. Do not come to campus. If you experience symptoms such as a fever, cough, new loss of taste and/or new loss of smell, difficulty breathing, or shortness of breath, please seek immediate medical attention. If you do not have a healthcare provider, please call the NYC COVID-19 hotline (888.364.3065). In addition, if you travel out of the country, you must quarantine for ten days upon return.
