Please join us in encouraging students to attend the Fall 2021 Virtual Career and Networking Fair scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 14 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.
Students and alumni can both RSVP and attend the fair by logging into their Handshake accounts. Handshake is the virtual career management platform open to all students who attend the College of Staten Island, and to alumni who request an account.
Below are some talking points about the fair and about Handshake, should your students have any questions:
● Enrolled students already have a Handshake account tied to their student email address. They can access it online and login with their CSI student email address and SLAS password.
● At the virtual fair, students will be able to interact with employers during group presentation sessions, and during ten-minute, one-on-one sessions.
● RSVPs are needed for both the employer group sessions and employer one-on-one sessions. It is highly recommended that students log into Handshake sooner rather than later to save themselves a spot. Students can RSVP for the fair and these sessions by visiting the Events section on Handshake and navigating to the Fall 2021 Virtual Fair entry.
Leading up to Oct. 14, we will be hosting in-person, virtual, and hybrid workshops on résumé writing, and interview and networking skills. These workshops, plus the option of scheduling an individual appointment with CCPD staff, can be accessed through Handshake.
It is highly recommended that students attend these workshops, or schedule an appointment with the Career Center staff to prepare for the fair.
