Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Athletic Field Reconstruction Groundbreaking Ceremony, scheduled for Friday, January 28, 2022, at 11am, at the College of Staten Island’s Track and Field complex, has been postponed.
The College of Staten Island and its partners are working towards rescheduling the ceremony, and details will be provided as new information becomes available.
The groundbreaking will celebrate the College’s nearly $6.1M Athletic Field Reconstruction Project, a joint collaboration between the College of Staten Island and the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York, and made possible by New York State Assemblyman Michael Cusick of the 63rd Assembly District. The project includes a new resilient running track surface, a synthetic turf multi-purpose competition field, new long jump/triple jump and pole vault installation, and athletic field equipment and landscaping, as well as installation of a water line and ground hydrants as part of the irrigation system, all necessary track drainage, field underdrain, and subsurface storm water detention system.
