Safer, MD, FACP, FACE, the Executive Director of the Mount Sinai Center for Transgender Medicine and Surgery (CTMS) and Professor of Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, gave a virtual talk to review the reasons for the shift in the model of delivery for gender-affirming care for trans people and then will review some of the hormone strategies along with the status of interest in various gender-affirming surgeries.
This event, organized by the Office of Student Life – LGBTQ Resource Center/Pluralism & Diversity, in partnership with the Department of Nursing, Department of Social Work, Department of Physical Therapy, and the Gender Resource Group, also featured a question-and-answer segment at the end of the program.
The event was made possible through the generous support of LaGuardia Community College/CUNY and the New York City Council through the offices of Daniel Dromm (District 25) and Speaker Corey Johnson.
