The ongoing invasion of Ukraine has elicited a wave of emotions from individuals and nations across the globe. Many local residents and members of our campus community have ties to Ukraine and have been personally touched by the conflict. The College of Staten Island joins the chorus of condemnation of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and stand with those who have been affected by this senseless action. As Chancellor Matos Rodríguez so eloquently stated “the images of Ukrainians repelling the invasion are both harrowing and inspiring” and “though the conflict may seem remote, the impact is palpable.” Our greatest show of strength during this difficult period will come in the form of the unity and support we can show our colleagues and students during this time. As we have in the past, we will face these challenges together.

I want to take this opportunity to remind everyone of the free and confidential services available for faculty and staff in need of support via CUNY’s Employee Assistance Program CCA@YourService. CCA@YourService can be reached confidentially at 800.833.8707. Counselors and work-life specialists are available 24/7. You can find information and guidance related to Ukraine under the News for You section of the member Website. Students in need of emotional support should be encouraged to contact our Counseling Center at 718.982.2391 or counseling@csi.cuny.edu.

There are many ways to offer your support and assistance during this time, made available through CCA @YourService.  We hope our community finds this repository of resources helpful if they wish to support or aid in the humanitarian effort for Ukraine. PDF
