This is to inform you of a scheduled asbestos abatement in the Center for the Arts ( Building 1P), Room 223 on Tuesday, October 18; Wednesday, October 19;, and Thursday, October 20, 2022 between the hours of 10:00pm and 6:00am.
As with any asbestos project on campus, CSI/CUNY and DASNY have hired vendors who are approved and certified asbestos contractors to perform the abatement following strict adherence to campus and regulatory agency standards. A certified third-party environmental consulting company has been hired as well to monitor air quality in the vicinity of the abatement to ensure compliance and a safe workplace at CSI. A clearance report, which documents the test results, will be provided after completion of the actual abatement.
Please take note that during the span of the abatement schedule, the regulated abatement area will not be accessible except in case of emergency. Access to the asbestos area, as needed, must be communicated with the assigned Asbestos Contractor Supervisor/Air Monitor, DASNY Environmental/CSI Project Management or EHS Office.
