The College of Staten Island welcomed City University of New York Executive Vice Chancellor and University Provost Wendy F. Hensel to campus today, who spent the day on campus grounds and later engaged in a Town Hall question-and-answer session with faculty, staff, and students.

The visit to CSI’s campus was the first by EVC Hensel since coming to CUNY in June. After meeting with Interim President Dr. Timothy G. Lynch and Provost Dr. Michael Steiper, EVC Hensel met with CSI Cabinet members, then took in a tour of CSI’s 204-acre campus, taking in CSI research labs, the recently installed Willowbrook Mile, Athletics facilities, and the Dolphin Cove Residence Halls.

After traveling and meeting with various constituents, EVC Hensel met with a cross-section of CSI faculty, including members of the CSI Faculty Senate and College Council. Immediately following that, EVC Hensel next met with students representing the Macaulay Honors College, Student Government, and CSI Athletics.

The entirety of the campus community then had the chance to meet and interact with EVC Hensel at a Town Hall meeting that took place in CSI’s Williamson Theatre, which was also streamed on Zoom. The conversation moved to topics such as student enrollment and retention, technological advancements, modalities of learning, diversity, and COVID-19. In all, EVC Hensel addressed a cross-section of student, faculty, staff, and administration questions, with Dr. Lynch reinforcing some campus-specific initiatives.
