In recognition of the Seventh Annual National Day of Racial Healing, the Antiracism Collective of the PSC-CUNY CSI Chapter would like to encourage members of our College community to participate in events linked below in preparation for an open campus conversation about racial healing at CSI later in the Spring 2023 semester.

The following from the AAC&U gives the background on this national project:

“To mark the seventh annual National Day of Racial Healing on January 17, the American Association of Colleges and Universities (AAC&U) calls on higher education institutions across the country to engage in activities, events, or strategies that promote healing and foster engagement around the issues of racism, bias, inequity, and injustice in our society. The National Day of Racial Healing (NDORH) is time for people and organizations to come together in their common humanity and take collective action to create a more just and equitable world. NDORH is part of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation’s Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation (TRHT) effort—a national and community-based process to plan for, and bring about, transformational and sustainable change.”

It is the Antiracism Collective’s hope that by the next National Day of Racial Healing we in the College community will have developed a plan for participating in this process of racial healing; resources for this planning, as well as events in which we can participate this year, are available online.

Our colleagues at Queensborough Community College are participants in this project as one of 71 national TRHT Campus Centers (sponsored by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation’s Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation effort); we wish to recognize their work. For more information about what QCC is doing, please go online.
