Thank you to everyone who participated in the Mar. 19 Admitted Student Conference. We put together a great campus visit for our newly admitted students and their families.

Our next and final Admitted Student Conference will be Sunday, Apr. 23 from 10:00am to 2:00pm in the Center for the Arts (Building 1P).

The ASC is designed to inform students and their parents/guardians about the many opportunities available to them at CSI with the goal that they accept our offer of admission and enroll at the College. At past events, students and their families have been particularly eager to hear directly from faculty members and staff about specific academic programs and student services. I strongly encourage you to send a representative to this program so that you can recruit and familiarize newly admitted students with CSI’s offerings as they build their academic plans. Where possible, we will accommodate special program/department/school-specific sessions and tours.

On average, 70-75% of students who attend an ASC enroll at the College. This is a great opportunity to help students explore and discover majors, minors, and other programs.

The event will begin at 10:00am. We plan to offer the following options:

  • Academic and Student Services Fair from 10:00am to 2:00pm.
  • Divisional/School Presentations for Admitted Students (will include an Admissions Representative to cover steps to enrolling)
  • Undecided Major – Admitted Student Session
  • Campus Tours
  • Enrollment Services (Admissions, Financial Aid, CAAS, Academic Support and others) in Building 2A
  • Housing Workshop

The Divisional/School Presentations for Admitted Students are designed to be panel presentations with representatives from each respective department. Our hope is to facilitate a discussion on the programs offered and highlight the opportunities and benefits of the school/division. In the case of Business and Education, full departmental representation may not be needed.

In addition, representatives from departments, schools, and programs are welcome and encouraged to participate in the Academic and Student Services Fair from 10:00am to 2:00pm. If the same representative will cover the table and session, we can add an away sign during the session.

If you haven’t done so already, I ask that you please confirm your department’s attendance at the ASC by contacting John Kim, Admissions Advisor. John may be reached at John.Kim@csi.cuny.edu or 718.982.2012.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
