The College of Staten Island has, once again, been named a Military Friendly® School by Viqtory Media. The College has received a rank of 2 for 2023-2024 in the Small Public category.
Commenting on this recognition, CSI Interim President Timothy G. Lynch said, “I am pleased that the College continues to receive recognition for the exceptional services and support that we provide to our student-veterans. Our goal is to ensure that these students have a smooth and seamless transition from military life to the college experience so that they can succeed academically and earn their degrees, and continue to contribute to society after graduation.”
According to Viqtory Media, “The list of Military Friendly® Schools andMilitary Friendly® Schools ratings are assessed through the evaluation of both public data about the institution and proprietary data gathered through their Military Friendly® Schools survey. The annual, data-driven Military Friendly® Schools survey assessment is offered at no cost to more than 8,800 institutions nationwide. Each year, schools taking the survey are held to a higher standard than in previous years via improved methodology, criteria and weightings developed with the assistance of an independent research firm and by an Advisory Council.”
Final survey results and ratings were determined by combining CSI’s survey scores with assessment of the College’s ability to meet minimum thresholds for Student Retention, Graduation, Job Placement, Loan Repayment, and Loan Default rates for all students and, specifically, for student veterans. The benchmark is set by the score of the leading institution.
