College of Staten Island Professor of Cinema Studies David Gerstner was recently quoted in the New York Times in their feature, “With Striking Actors Off-Limits, Directors Get Their Close-Ups.” The feature, written by NYT reporter Julia Jacobs, emphasizes the importance of directors at a time when the Hollywood strike is preventing actors from promoting studio films.
