The Staten Island Advance recently covered news on the CUNY’s announcement of four new holidays coming to the CUNY calendar beginning in 2025. Chancellor Félix V. Matos Rodríguez announced last week that the college system will become one of the first universities in the country to designate Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha, Lunar New Year and Diwali as holidays on the official school calendar, aligning with New York City public schools.
