The College of Staten Island Track & Field program participates in their first meet of the 2024-25 Indoor season on Saturday as they open the season in the Youree Spence Garcia Invitational for the second straight year. The meet will be the first of six ahead of the East Coast Conference Championship and NCAA Regionals. The Dolphins enter the season with a roster that has once again grown in size in the second season under Head Coach Akil St. Louis.
The program sees the introduction of new student-athletes including both transfers and a large freshman class. The upcoming season will also see the return of numerous record-holders hoping to lead the Dolphins closer to the top of the East Coast Conference. Of the seven meets scheduled ahead of NCAA Regionals this season, six of them will be hosted at the Ocean Breeze Track & Field Facility on Staten Island. This puts the Dolphins in a unique position where they will have to travel a very short way for the majority of their meets, and the team will also benefit from the recently constructed Track & Field on campus.
Boasting greater numbers and more record-breaking potential than an any other time in the recent history of the program, the Dolphins certainly will have plenty to look forward to as the Indoor season gets underway this weekend. Check out profiles of some program record holders, a look at this year’s schedule, and our conversations with the team as part of our season preview below.
