CSI kicked off the Year of the Snake with a vibrant Lunar New Year celebration on January 30 in the Campus Center’s Green Dolphin Lounge. The eventbrought together students, faculty, and staff for an afternoon of cultural immersion and entertainment.
Attendees were treated to an exhilarating lion dance, traditional Chinese calligraphy, and classic New Year board games, offering an engaging glimpse into one of Asia’s most significant holidays. Participants also enjoyed festive refreshments and had the chance to win exciting prizes and giveaways.
The event would not have been able to take place without the co-organizing by the Center for Global Engagement and the Chinese Program of the Department of World Languages and Literatures and the co-sponsoring by the East Asian Studies Program, Philosophy Department, Department of World Languages and Literatures, Verazzano Honors Program, AAPI Student Club and Center for Global Engagement. It was funded by the Campus Activities Board Student Activities Fees.
