The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has announced that College of Staten Island Swimming & Diving Teams has been named Scholar All-America Teams for the Fall 2024 semester.  The Dolphins were among 781 teams from 459 institutions selected for the honor that was given to programs with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Both the Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving Teams were among the 654 programs to achieve a GPA above 3.3. This qualified them for the Intercollegiate Coach Association Coalition All-Sport Academic Standings. For the CSI women, nine Dolphins contributed to a team GPA of 3.34 in the Fall semester. For the CSI men, 19 Dolphins contributed to a 3.58 GPA.

The CSI Swimming & Diving program has a longstanding history of academic excellence that has continued through the program’s entry into the Northeast-10 Conference as an associate member. Last season, thirteen Dolphins achieved a GPA of greater than 3.5 during the Fall semester which earned each of them Academic Distinction from the NE-10.  Six more Dolphins achieved GPA’s between 3.0 and 3.49 to receive Academic Honors from the NE-10 last season. Many of the student-athletes who contributed appearances on last year’s NE-10 Academic Honor Roll also returned this season to help the team earn their most recent accolade from the CSCAA.  In addition to the 19 Dolphins who appeared on the Academic Honor Roll last season, William Kwan, Jordan Swanson, and Anthony Attenborough all received a spot on the NE-10 Academic All-Conference Team last season. With the recent recognition from the CSCAA, it seems increasingly likely that the Dolphins can expect to have more honorees recognized by the NE-10 later this year.

CSCAA Scholar All-America recognition remains a constant for the Swimming & Diving program that has also established themselves as an academic powerhouse within the Northeast-10. Meanwhile, the Dolphins will compete in their second Northeast-10 Swimming & Diving Conference Championship in two weeks after a very successful debut in that meet last year. Continue to monitor the Swimming & Diving Schedule page for the most up-to-date information regarding how to follow this year’s meet.  You can also view the official CSCAA release containing all ot this year’s Scholar All-America teams here.
