Due to the forecast for high heat and humidity this evening, our administration and the Buildings and Grounds team are working to meet the New York State Independent System Operator (NYSISO) energy reduction target. This is a normal energy reduction target to manage our energy usage and will not impact the workday.
To support this effort:
- Building Temperatures: Indoor temperatures will increase subtly at approximately 4:00pm today. While interior temperatures may rise slightly, the Central Plant will work to minimize the impact on occupied areas. For any climate-related concerns, please contact the plant directly at 718.982.3204 or 3205.
- Energy-Saving Actions: All campus occupants can contribute by turning off lights in unused rooms, and shutting down computers, appliances, and other non-essential electronics during this period.
