The College of Staten Island’s Earth and Environmental Science program is bringing a full lineup of engaging events to campus this fall, highlighting research, exploration, and hands-on learning across the sciences. The lineup includes a welcome event today and a full lineup of great events forthcoming.

The semester’s schedule includes a variety of collaborations and opportunities for students, faculty, and the community to connect. Highlights include:

  • Guest Speaker (Oct. 28): A joint event with the Biology Department featuring expert voices in the field.
  • Planetary Observation (Oct. 30): Co-hosted with the Physics Department, offering a chance to view planetary bodies through telescopes.
  • Campus Geologic Tour (Nov. 4): A guided exploration of CSI’s own landscape and its geological features.
  • Research Talk (Nov. 11): Dr. Alan Benimoff will present his latest findings.
  • GIS Day (Nov. 19): A celebration of Geographic Information Systems technology and its wide-ranging applications.

Together, these events reflect the program’s commitment to fostering scientific curiosity and collaboration across disciplines. Students and community members alike are invited to participate and discover the many ways Earth and Environmental Science connects to our everyday lives.

Today’s welcome event takes place in 4N-219 from 2:30 – 3:30pm, and is CC Clue certified. All are welcomed to attend and will learn about degree programs, research on campus, internship opportunities, and more.
