The College of Staten Island’s Center for the Arts proudly presents Thornton Wilder’s beloved American classic Our Town, running December 5–7 at the Williamson Theatre.
First produced in 1938, Our Town remains one of the most performed plays in the American canon, celebrated for its universal themes of love, family, and the fleeting beauty of everyday life. Set in the fictional New England town of Grover’s Corners, Wilder’s Pulitzer Prize-winning drama explores the human experience through the ordinary moments that make life extraordinary.
Produced and directed by Charlie Siedenburg, this CSI production embraces Wilder’s minimalist vision—stripped of scenery and artifice—allowing the story’s emotional depth and timeless resonance to shine through. The production features a talented ensemble of CSI students, alums and community performers, bringing warmth, humor, and poignancy to this enduring tale.
The 22-member ensemble is led by SI Theatre veteran Joseph Daly as the Stage Manager, Victoria Gullo (Emily Webb), David Serrano Hernandez (George Gibbs), Eddie Mayrose (Dr. Gibbs), Amanda Straniere (Mrs. Webb), Heather O’Neill (Mrs. Gibbs), Regan Sou (Mr. Webb), Liam High (Wally Webb), Elliana Lambert (Rebecca Gibbs), Severin O’Neill (Joe Crowell Jr.), Campion O’Neill (Si Crowell), Brian Laub (Howie Newsome), Tony O’Connell (Simon Stimson), Gloria Vistica (Mrs. Soames), Tom Shcherbenko (Professor Willard, Constable Warren, Joe Stoddard), Christian Martinez (Sam Craig), Angelinna Cespedes (Emily Webb u/s), Madison Davis, Emma Ferguson, Abbygail Khadros, Christie High, BJ High.
CSI Students and Alums in the cast are Regan Sou, Tony O’Connell, Emma Ferguson, Christian Martinez, Emma Ferguson and Abbygail Khadros.
“The simplicity of Our Town is what makes it so powerful,” says Siedenburg. “Wilder reminds us to appreciate the small moments we often overlook—the laughter, the connections, and the preciousness of being alive.”
This production of Our Town is lovingly dedicated to the memory of Ellen Mitchell, a cherished Staten Island theatre legend and member of CSI’s Fiddler on the Roof cast. Ellen’s talent, warmth, and spirit left an indelible mark on the local arts community. “The memory of a great performer never fades—it continues to inspire every time the curtain rises.”
The creative team includes Allie Stein (Assistant Director), Kathy Whelan (Production Stage Manager), Inna Cespedes (Costume Designer), Charles Moser (Lighting Designer) and Rob Morisi (Sound Designer).
